The AEMH2* project, under the leadership of Ductolux-CIIAE consortium,
proposes to reduce the cost of hydrogen generation technology. The objective of this project is to bring the technology of anion exchange membrane electrolysers for water production (AEMWE) to an advanced level
in terms of electrolysis cell performance and laboratory scale testing of
small demonstration units (from the current TRL 2-3 to TRL 4). This project will address the fundamental design of electrolysers by investigating
and testing, at laboratory level, new cells for AEM technology electrolysers (AEMWE) in alkaline medium and electrodes with low or no platinum
group precious metals (PGMs) and critical raw materials (CRMs)
The selected candidate is expected to perform the following tasks:
—T
o develop research activities in the field of electrolysis for H2/
O2 generation by electrochemical catalysis of water in an alkaline
medium.
—D
eepen your knowledge in the area of alkaline electrolysis
—C
atalyst synthesis that increases hydrogen generation efficiency
with low PGM and CRM materials and characterizes them at laboratory scale.
Tasks to be developed:
—T
he investigator will assist in assembling electrode membrane assemblies and will optimize catalytic inks.
—T
he technician investigator will work on the processing and analysis of results/data obtained in the laboratory and prototype-scale
cell tests.
—C
ollaborate with the activities of the research group and other
experimental researchers from CIIAE in the laboratory.
—T
he technician will work to understand the specific needs of atomistic simulation and CDF researchers involved in this project and
beyond.
—P
articipate in group meetings and write research progress reports
for the AEMH2 project.
—C
ollaborations with experimental researchers from CIIAE and beyond.
—A
ctively participate in writing reports, original scientific papers
and/or review articles/protocols or methods for publication in highimpact journals.
*A
EMH2 project resolution CPP-23-0006-3, requested under Decree 146/2022,
of 7 December (DOE No. 248, of 29 December). Co-financed by the European
Union.
